Studying Physiotherapy in New Zealand

Physiotherapy degrees train students to cure spine and joint problems in young and old, specifically after operations and rehabilitation following sports injuries, strokes and accidents through the use of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

Physiotherapy modules study of the basic principle of healing, repair and movement analysis in year one and patient assessment and management in year two. Your final year of study will involve providing an in-depth study on a subject within physiotherapy, plus a greater responsibility in clinical reasoning and decision-making.

Physiotherapy Careers

Physiotherapy graduates will find roles at private practices or companies, the NHS or with sports teams and at sports centres. Specific roles will see you tend to the elderly while undertaking orthopaedics, obstetrics, paediatrics and sports medicine.

Physiotherapy Entry Requirements

Entry requirements vary for each university, but students will need an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, no lower than 6.0 in each component, and an International Baccalaureate score of 32 points along with biological science or physical education to meet A-Level requirements.
